Why isn't my site in the search engines yet?
The search engines usually update their main search index about every two weeks or so. Once the pages on your new website have been regularly indexed, your site should consistently appear in the search engine results.

Can I trick the search engines to rank my site higher?
Many people try, and will keep trying. Techniques that are now considered worst practice by the search engines include invisible text, keyword stuffing, doorway pages or cloaking. Search engines are becoming smarter and are now dropping a web site's ranking for using these techniques.
